  51. 51 And he shall take the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet, and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird, and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times:
  52. 52 And he shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, and with the running water, and with the living bird, and with the cedar wood, and with the hyssop, and with the scarlet:
  53. 53 But he shall let go the living bird out of the city into the open fields, and make an atonement for the house: and it shall be clean.
  54. 54 This is the law for all manner of plague of leprosy, and scall,
  55. 55 And for the leprosy of a garment, and of a house,
  56. 56 And for a rising, and for a scab, and for a bright spot:
  57. 57 To teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean: this is the law of leprosy.

  8. 8 He who is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean. After that he shall come into the camp, and shall stay outside his tent seven days.
  9. 9 But on the seventh day he shall shave all the hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows?all his hair he shall shave off. He shall wash his clothes and wash his body in water, and he shall be clean.
  10. 10 "And on the eighth day he shall take two male lambs without blemish, one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish, three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering, and one log of oil.
  11. 11 Then the priest who makes him clean shall present the man who is to be made clean, and those things, before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.
  12. 12 And the priest shall take one male lamb and offer it as a trespass offering, and the log of oil, and wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.
  13. 13 Then he shall kill the lamb in the place where he kills the sin offering and the burnt offering, in a holy place; for as the sin offering is the priest's, so is the trespass offering. It is most holy.
  14. 14 The priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.
  15. 15 And the priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand.
  16. 16 Then the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle some of the oil with his finger seven times before the LORD.
  17. 17 And of the rest of the oil in his hand, the priest shall put some on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on the blood of the trespass offering.
  18. 18 The rest of the oil that is in the priest's hand he shall put on the head of him who is to be cleansed. So the priest shall make atonement for him before the LORD.
  19. 19 "Then the priest shall offer the sin offering, and make atonement for him who is to be cleansed from his uncleanness. Afterward he shall kill the burnt offering.
  20. 20 And the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the grain offering on the altar. So the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean.
  21. 21 "But if he is poor and cannot afford it, then he shall take one male lamb as a trespass offering to be waved, to make atonement for him, one-tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering, a log of oil,
  22. 22 and two turtledoves or two young pigeons, such as he is able to afford: one shall be a sin offering and the other a burnt offering.
  23. 23 He shall bring them to the priest on the eighth day for his cleansing, to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, before the LORD.
  24. 24 And the priest shall take the lamb of the trespass offering and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.
  25. 25 Then he shall kill the lamb of the trespass offering, and the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering and put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.

  32. 32 This is the law for one who had a leprous sore, who cannot afford the usual cleansing."
  33. 33 And the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:
  34. 34 "When you have come into the land of Canaan, which I give you as a possession, and I put the leprous plague in a house in the land of your possession,
  35. 35 and he who owns the house comes and tells the priest, saying, 'It seems to me that there is some plague in the house,'
  36. 36 then the priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest goes into it to examine the plague, that all that is in the house may not be made unclean; and afterward the priest shall go in to examine the house.
  37. 37 And he shall examine the plague; and indeed if the plague is on the walls of the house with ingrained streaks, greenish or reddish, which appear to be deep in the wall,
  38. 38 then the priest shall go out of the house, to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days.
  39. 39 And the priest shall come again on the seventh day and look; and indeed if the plague has spread on the walls of the house,
  40. 40 then the priest shall command that they take away the stones in which is the plague, and they shall cast them into an unclean place outside the city.
  41. 41 And he shall cause the house to be scraped inside, all around, and the dust that they scrape off they shall pour out in an unclean place outside the city.
  42. 42 Then they shall take other stones and put them in the place of those stones, and he shall take other mortar and plaster the house.
  43. 43 "Now if the plague comes back and breaks out in the house, after he has taken away the stones, after he has scraped the house, and after it is plastered,
  44. 44 then the priest shall come and look; and indeed if the plague has spread in the house, it is an active leprosy in the house. It is unclean.
  45. 45 And he shall break down the house, its stones, its timber, and all the plaster of the house, and he shall carry them outside the city to an unclean place.
  46. 46 Moreover he who goes into the house at all while it is shut up shall be unclean until evening.
  47. 47 And he who lies down in the house shall wash his clothes, and he who eats in the house shall wash his clothes.
  48. 48 "But if the priest comes in and examines it, and indeed the plague has not spread in the house after the house was plastered, then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed.
  49. 49 And he shall take, to cleanse the house, two birds, cedar wood, scarlet, and hyssop.
  50. 50 Then he shall kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water;

  8. 8 "The person to be cleansed must wash their clothes, shave off all their hair and bathe with water; then they will be ceremonially clean. After this they may come into the camp, but they must stay outside their tent for seven days.
  9. 9 On the seventh day they must shave off all their hair; they must shave their head, their beard, their eyebrows and the rest of their hair. They must wash their clothes and bathe themselves with water, and they will be clean.
  10. 10 "On the eighth day they must bring two male lambs and one ewe lamb a year old, each without defect, along with three-tenths of an ephah of the finest flour mixed with olive oil for a grain offering, and one log of oil.
  11. 11 The priest who pronounces them clean shall present both the one to be cleansed and their offerings before the LORD at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
  12. 12 "Then the priest is to take one of the male lambs and offer it as a guilt offering, along with the log of oil; he shall wave them before the LORD as a wave offering.
  13. 13 He is to slaughter the lamb in the sanctuary area where the sin offering and the burnt offering are slaughtered. Like the sin offering, the guilt offering belongs to the priest; it is most holy.
  14. 14 The priest is to take some of the blood of the guilt offering and put it on the lobe of the right ear of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of their right hand and on the big toe of their right foot.
  15. 15 The priest shall then take some of the log of oil, pour it in the palm of his own left hand,
  16. 16 dip his right forefinger into the oil in his palm, and with his finger sprinkle some of it before the LORD seven times.
  17. 17 The priest is to put some of the oil remaining in his palm on the lobe of the right ear of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of their right hand and on the big toe of their right foot, on top of the blood of the guilt offering.
  18. 18 The rest of the oil in his palm the priest shall put on the head of the one to be cleansed and make atonement for them before the LORD.
  19. 19 "Then the priest is to sacrifice the sin offering and make atonement for the one to be cleansed from their uncleanness. After that, the priest shall slaughter the burnt offering
  20. 20 and offer it on the altar, together with the grain offering, and make atonement for them, and they will be clean.

  30. 30 Then he shall sacrifice the doves or the young pigeons, such as the person can afford,
  31. 31 one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering, together with the grain offering. In this way the priest will make atonement before the LORD on behalf of the one to be cleansed."
  32. 32 These are the regulations for anyone who has a defiling skin disease and who cannot afford the regular offerings for their cleansing.
  33. 33 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
  34. 34 "When you enter the land of Canaan, which I am giving you as your possession, and I put a spreading mold in a house in that land,
  35. 35 the owner of the house must go and tell the priest, 'I have seen something that looks like a defiling mold in my house.'
  36. 36 The priest is to order the house to be emptied before he goes in to examine the mold, so that nothing in the house will be pronounced unclean. After this the priest is to go in and inspect the house.
  37. 37 He is to examine the mold on the walls, and if it has greenish or reddish depressions that appear to be deeper than the surface of the wall,
  38. 38 the priest shall go out the doorway of the house and close it up for seven days.
  39. 39 On the seventh day the priest shall return to inspect the house. If the mold has spread on the walls,
  40. 40 he is to order that the contaminated stones be torn out and thrown into an unclean place outside the town.
  41. 41 He must have all the inside walls of the house scraped and the material that is scraped off dumped into an unclean place outside the town.
  42. 42 Then they are to take other stones to replace these and take new clay and plaster the house.
  43. 43 "If the defiling mold reappears in the house after the stones have been torn out and the house scraped and plastered,
  44. 44 the priest is to go and examine it and, if the mold has spread in the house, it is a persistent defiling mold; the house is unclean.
  45. 45 It must be torn down?its stones, timbers and all the plaster?and taken out of the town to an unclean place.
  46. 46 "Anyone who goes into the house while it is closed up will be unclean till evening.
  47. 47 Anyone who sleeps or eats in the house must wash their clothes.
  48. 48 "But if the priest comes to examine it and the mold has not spread after the house has been plastered, he shall pronounce the house clean, because the defiling mold is gone.
  49. 49 To purify the house he is to take two birds and some cedar wood, scarlet yarn and hyssop.
  50. 50 He shall kill one of the birds over fresh water in a clay pot.
  51. 51 Then he is to take the cedar wood, the hyssop, the scarlet yarn and the live bird, dip them into the blood of the dead bird and the fresh water, and sprinkle the house seven times.
  52. 52 He shall purify the house with the bird's blood, the fresh water, the live bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop and the scarlet yarn.
  53. 53 Then he is to release the live bird in the open fields outside the town. In this way he will make atonement for the house, and it will be clean."
  54. 54 These are the regulations for any defiling skin disease, for a sore,
  55. 55 for defiling molds in fabric or in a house,
  56. 56 and for a swelling, a rash or a shiny spot,
  57. 57 to determine when something is clean or unclean. These are the regulations for defiling skin diseases and defiling molds.

  55. 55 for leprous disease in a garment or in a house,

  2. 2 "The following instructions are for those seeking ceremonial purification from a skin disease. Those who have been healed must be brought to the priest,
  3. 3 who will examine them at a place outside the camp. If the priest finds that someone has been healed of a serious skin disease,
  4. 4 he will perform a purification ceremony, using two live birds that are ceremonially clean, a stick of cedar, some scarlet yarn, and a hyssop branch.
  5. 5 The priest will order that one bird be slaughtered over a clay pot filled with fresh water.
  6. 6 He will take the live bird, the cedar stick, the scarlet yarn, and the hyssop branch, and dip them into the blood of the bird that was slaughtered over the fresh water.
  7. 7 The priest will then sprinkle the blood of the dead bird seven times on the person being purified of the skin disease. When the priest has purified the person, he will release the live bird in the open field to fly away.
  8. 8 "The persons being purified must then wash their clothes, shave off all their hair, and bathe themselves in water. Then they will be ceremonially clean and may return to the camp. However, they must remain outside their tents for seven days.
  9. 9 On the seventh day they must again shave all the hair from their heads, including the hair of the beard and eyebrows. They must also wash their clothes and bathe themselves in water. Then they will be ceremonially clean.
  10. 10 "On the eighth day each person being purified must bring two male lambs and a one-year-old female lamb, all with no defects, along with a grain offering of six quarts of choice flour moistened with olive oil, and a cup of olive oil.
  11. 11 Then the officiating priest will present that person for purification, along with the offerings, before the LORD at the entrance of the Tabernacle.
  12. 12 The priest will take one of the male lambs and the olive oil and present them as a guilt offering, lifting them up as a special offering before the LORD.
  13. 13 He will then slaughter the male lamb in the sacred area where sin offerings and burnt offerings are slaughtered. As with the sin offering, the guilt offering belongs to the priest. It is a most holy offering.
  14. 14 The priest will then take some of the blood of the guilt offering and apply it to the lobe of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the person being purified.
  15. 15 "Then the priest will pour some of the olive oil into the palm of his own left hand.
  16. 16 He will dip his right finger into the oil in his palm and sprinkle some of it with his finger seven times before the LORD.
  17. 17 The priest will then apply some of the oil in his palm over the blood from the guilt offering that is on the lobe of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the person being purified.
  18. 18 The priest will apply the oil remaining in his hand to the head of the person being purified. Through this process, the priest will purify the person before the LORD.
  19. 19 "Then the priest must present the sin offering to purify the person who was cured of the skin disease. After that, the priest will slaughter the burnt offering
  20. 20 and offer it on the altar along with the grain offering. Through this process, the priest will purify the person who was healed, and the person will be ceremonially clean.
  21. 21 "But anyone who is too poor and cannot afford these offerings may bring one male lamb for a guilt offering, to be lifted up as a special offering for purification. The person must also bring two quarts of choice flour moistened with olive oil for the grain offering and a cup of olive oil.
  22. 22 The offering must also include two turtledoves or two young pigeons, whichever the person can afford. One of the pair must be used for the sin offering and the other for a burnt offering.
  23. 23 On the eighth day of the purification ceremony, the person being purified must bring the offerings to the priest in the LORD's presence at the entrance of the Tabernacle.
  24. 24 The priest will take the lamb for the guilt offering, along with the olive oil, and lift them up as a special offering to the LORD.
  25. 25 Then the priest will slaughter the lamb for the guilt offering. He will take some of its blood and apply it to the lobe of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the person being purified.
  26. 26 "The priest will also pour some of the olive oil into the palm of his own left hand.
  27. 27 He will dip his right finger into the oil in his palm and sprinkle some of it seven times before the LORD.
  28. 28 The priest will then apply some of the oil in his palm over the blood from the guilt offering that is on the lobe of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the person being purified.
  29. 29 The priest will apply the oil remaining in his hand to the head of the person being purified. Through this process, the priest will purify the person before the LORD.
  30. 30 "Then the priest will offer the two turtledoves or the two young pigeons, whichever the person can afford.
  31. 31 One of them is for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering, to be presented along with the grain offering. Through this process, the priest will purify the person before the LORD.
  32. 32 These are the instructions for purification for those who have recovered from a serious skin disease but who cannot afford to bring the offerings normally required for the ceremony of purification."
  33. 33 Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
  34. 34 "When you arrive in Canaan, the land I am giving you as your own possession, I may contaminate some of the houses in your land with mildew.
  35. 35 The owner of such a house must then go to the priest and say, 'It appears that my house has some kind of mildew.'
  36. 36 Before the priest goes in to inspect the house, he must have the house emptied so nothing inside will be pronounced ceremonially unclean.
  37. 37 Then the priest will go in and examine the mildew on the walls. If he finds greenish or reddish streaks and the contamination appears to go deeper than the wall's surface,
  38. 38 the priest will step outside the door and put the house in quarantine for seven days.
  39. 39 On the seventh day the priest must return for another inspection. If he finds that the mildew on the walls of the house has spread,
  40. 40 the priest must order that the stones from those areas be removed. The contaminated material will then be taken outside the town to an area designated as ceremonially unclean.
  41. 41 Next the inside walls of the entire house must be scraped thoroughly and the scrapings dumped in the unclean place outside the town.
  42. 42 Other stones will be brought in to replace the ones that were removed, and the walls will be replastered.
  43. 43 "But if the mildew reappears after all the stones have been replaced and the house has been scraped and replastered,
  44. 44 the priest must return and inspect the house again. If he finds that the mildew has spread, the walls are clearly contaminated with a serious mildew, and the house is defiled.
  45. 45 It must be torn down, and all its stones, timbers, and plaster must be carried out of town to the place designated as ceremonially unclean.
  46. 46 Those who enter the house during the period of quarantine will be ceremonially unclean until evening,
  47. 47 and all who sleep or eat in the house must wash their clothing.
  48. 48 "But if the priest returns for his inspection and finds that the mildew has not reappeared in the house after the fresh plastering, he will pronounce it clean because the mildew is clearly gone.
  49. 49 To purify the house the priest must take two birds, a stick of cedar, some scarlet yarn, and a hyssop branch.
  50. 50 He will slaughter one of the birds over a clay pot filled with fresh water.
  51. 51 He will take the cedar stick, the hyssop branch, the scarlet yarn, and the live bird, and dip them into the blood of the slaughtered bird and into the fresh water. Then he will sprinkle the house seven times.
  52. 52 When the priest has purified the house in exactly this way,
  53. 53 he will release the live bird in the open fields outside the town. Through this process, the priest will purify the house, and it will be ceremonially clean.
  54. 54 "These are the instructions for dealing with serious skin diseases, including scabby sores;
  55. 55 and mildew, whether on clothing or in a house;
  56. 56 and a swelling on the skin, a rash, or discolored skin.
  57. 57 This procedure will determine whether a person or object is ceremonially clean or unclean. "These are the instructions regarding skin diseases and mildew."
